Imagine enjoying:

👉 The best mojito you’ll ever try
Right in your own backyard!
No curfews, no driving, no worries.
Family and friends will be begging to join you (just try to stop them!).
Here’s how to create a backyard bar in 5 easy steps.
1. First things first: Create Space
First up, you’ll need a space to house your bar supplies & serve drinks from.
You’ll want to make sure it’s lockable and secure; so it can be used year-round.
A quick & easy solution is a Garden Room. Made-to-order in a few weeks. Delivered & built for you in one day.
We recommend including some or all of these features:
- A side entry door
- Deck/Verandah for shade + seating
- Large sliding window for serving
- Small sliding window (opposite the serving window, for cross-ventilation).
2. Add a bench
Simply attach a plank of wood with some brackets underneath your sliding window, and you’ve got a serving bench for all those special cocktails you surprise your friends with.
You’ll want to stain the wood to make it weather & wine proof, and make sure your bench will be sturdy enough to take the weight of people leaning on it.
You could tackle this yourself as a DIY Project, or enlist the help of a local carpenter.
TIP: ServiceSeeking.com.au is a great place to find qualified local tradies in your area
3. Add bar stools/seating
Once your bench is in, hunt down some stylish stools to sit at your bar window.
TIP: Temple & Webster and Freedom have some great outdoor furniture options.
Make sure you check measurements before purchasing, as you want the stools to suit the height of your bench.
For something a little comfier, add some outdoor lounges & cushions.
4. Fit out the inside of your bar
Start by deciding what style you’re going for inside your bar.
Will it be a basic serving area with storage cupboards, a fridge and a sink?
Or a sleek cocktail lounge, with comfortable seating, elegant lights, a metallic bar cart and plush cushions?
TIP: Create a Backyard Bar Pinboard. This will help you bring your ideas together and stick to your colour scheme. You can also add products to your board as you find them, for example bar stools, a bar cart, paint colours etc. #yeswelovepinterest #addicted
5. Finishing Touches
Once your Bar is fitted out inside and out, its time to add the finishing touches.
A few coats of paint are essential. We recommend using a similar colour scheme to your house for a sleek, coordinated look.
TIP: This handy Dulux calculator helps you work out how much paint you’ll need
Add an ice bucket for keeping drinks cool, and string up some lights to make evenings with friends just a little more magical.
Once your Backyard Bar is complete, just add family and friends and you’ve got all the elements for a good time.
